Antipasto to begin includes cheeses, cured meats and salty morsels presented on shared platters for guests to choose from. The first course might be a pasta or gnocchi dish; small – so that guests are not yet satisfied. A main course of fish or meat will follow, served with side dishes of vegetables or roast potatoes.

Up next is the dessert course. You can keep with the Italian theme with traditional sweet dishes of Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. Wedding cake is often served with fresh fruit platters or fruit and cheese platters.

For styling that combines both an Italian vibe and wedding glamour, be inspired by regional Italian décor. At Ballara Receptions, we’ve had couples use sprigs of rosemary attached to the place cards, bonbonniere gifts of limoncello and also traditional sugar almonds.

Ballara Receptions has a great range of sparkling wines available to toast your wedding speeches. But if there’s something special that you’d like to toast with, you are welcome to supply the toasting drink. We’ve had couples toast to Aperol Spritz, which they supplied and our staff have served to guests for the toast.

Our cocktail and grazing menus have some fantastic Italian choices including Arancini Balls, Gnocchi, Risottos as well as delicious dessert choices.

Italian weddings tend towards a more traditional affair. While there is much merrymaking and revelry, weddings are generally taken quite seriously in Italian culture. This means that many of the conservative wedding traditions are closely adhered to. If you can picture a scene reminiscent of regional Italy serving delicious Italian Wedding Food for your occasion, then find out how Ballara Receptions can create that moment for you.
