With a new year comes a new take on weddings. We’ve discovered some of the hottest 2021 Bridal Trends to help you with planning your own special day.
The events of 2020 played a huge role in how the 2021 Bridal Trends have developed. From small, intimate affairs to an entirely new colour palette, there are some real shifts in how weddings are going to look over the next year or so.
Check out these new 2021 bridal trends and be inspired!
Small and relaxed
It may have all started with restrictions on guest numbers, but we’re noticing an enthusiastic movement towards smaller, fuss-free weddings that focus on intimate settings and quality experiences. After missing connection with loved ones for so long last year, Melburnians have had time to reassess what is truly important in life, savouring moments with their nearest and dearest.
Whatever size the guest list, brides and grooms are planning weddings that focus on celebrating the connection of family and friends.
Simple elegance for the win
Big dresses are out more than ever. Elegant dresses with simple lines are the preference, for both their beauty and the fact that they facilitate ease of movement and enjoyment on the day. They also require less effort to create, which can often save time, money, and materials.
Sustainability takes centre stage
This is one of the more notable 2021 bridal trends. With time to reflect and reprioritise, it seems that global and environmental awareness has been given a boost. The hunt for sustainable décor and styling pieces that reduce our environmental footprint and save resources is great to see!
Get inspired with home-grown or recycled items, rather than store-bought goods. Succulents, seedling packets, or homemade items such as jam and honey make wonderful bonbonniere options, while recycled stationery paper is an easy swap. If you look around, there are also some fabulous wedding vendors who prioritise eco-friendly solutions.
Pantone’s colours of the year – Ultimate Grey & Illuminating
Bright and cheery yellow complemented by soft, timeless grey made wonderful headlines recently, when Pantone announced their colours of the year for 2021.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, says:
“The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope.”
This is the perfect colour message for the world at the moment, and we’re waiting with great anticipation to see how this stunning colour combo is interpreted at weddings during the year ahead.
Ballara’s includes fresh floral arrangements that can include accents of yellow, perfectly paired with grey table linen and napkins. Adding some coordinated bonbonniere and place cards in these colours also gives a lovely and subtle nod to the trend.
At Ballara Receptions, we are excited about the 2021 bridal trends and can’t wait to watch them unfold. Get in touch with the team today for a tour, or to find out more about our wedding packages.
